Vaccination is the cheapest medicine in this clinic. A full puppy course costs a fraction of treating one parvo case — and parvo is what we see when the course was skipped or spaced out wrongly.
The puppy schedule
One shot is never enough. Puppies carry their mother's antibodies for the first few weeks, and those same antibodies block a vaccine from working. The course is spaced so that as her protection fades, the vaccine takes over.

Until the course is finished, your puppy is only partly protected. Keep it away from unvaccinated dogs and off ground where street dogs toilet. Parvo survives in soil for months.
Kittens
Similar spacing, starting at 8–9 weeks, with two or three shots depending on age at the first visit, then anti-rabies. Cats that go outdoors need the full course. Indoor-only cats still need rabies.
Rabies matters most
Rabies is fatal, present in this district, and it spreads to people. Every dog and cat should have it — indoor animals included — repeated every year.
If your animal has bitten someone, bring the vaccination record and come the same day.
Deworming and parasite control
Vaccines are only half of prevention. The other half is worms, ticks and fleas — and around Coimbatore that half matters just as much.

For ticks and fleas there are spot-ons, tablets and collars. They differ in how long they last and in safety — some aren't safe for young puppies, some are dangerous to cats in the same house even if you only treat the dog. Ask before buying anything off a shelf.
Treat the house, not just the animal. The brown dog tick lives in floor cracks and bedding, not on your dog. Treat only the dog and it's reinfested within a fortnight.
Common questions
I've missed a year or more — is it too late?
No, and it's common. Bring whatever vaccination card you have. In most cases an adult dog whose boosters lapsed needs one or two shots to restart protection, not the whole puppy course again. Don't stay away because of the gap — we'd far rather restart late than not at all.
Why do you examine before vaccinating?
A pet that's feverish, wormy or unwell shouldn't be vaccinated that day — the vaccine works poorly and you've wasted the visit. That check is the reason to come in rather than inject a shop-bought vaccine at home.
